Softee Bergamot Review by JC @The Dapper Society

The Dapper Society is a men’s grooming blog that tries and reports back on pomades and other men’s grooming products.

The Bergamot hair dress comes in the same plastic tub with a screw top lid just like every other Softee flavor. This particular product comes in a tub that reads “Softee” in bold white letters up top and “Bergamot hair dress” inside.

While scooping the product out onto my finger tips reminded me of Blue Magic’s pressing oil. Working it in my hands I could tell that this product wasn’t designed to help very much to hold the hair in place. Surprisingly, after a few hours, I observed that this product was able to help my hair with holding its low pomp pretty decently. However, throughout the day my hairstyle did lose all hold. My pomp dropped down to almost nothing. Fortunately, it was a straightforward fix. I simply combed my hair over and restyled it back to how I originally styled my pomp at the beginning of the day. One thing I can say is that the shine persisted throughout the entirety of the day.

On the following day, I easily combed my hair over with the product that was still in my hair. I was able to style it back to make a slicked doo. It held my long, wavy hair all day and didn’t move at all. I was impressed.

This pomade is a decent light pomade that holds curly hair well. I would not use this product on straight hair. It will not hold well.

Finally, the Softee Bergamot has a decent scent, and all for a very low price.

I was pleasantly surprised and I think this product is worth checking out for use on waved and dapper hairstyles or at least for use as a style topper.
